Making a difference
Iman Sagarwala is a rising sophomore at Presentation High School in San Jose.
Iman has been volunteering since 8th grade, and she has worked with organizations such as Helping Hands for Relief and development, Second Harvest, and Sacred Heart. Iman’s main reason to work towards change is that she wants everyone to have access to equal opportunities to prosper in life. Be that by helping to distribute food at a food bank or packing clothes and blankets for shipment, she wants to be able to help people however she can.
By increasing people’s literacy and helping them access books, she believes that she can help people gain the knowledge that they need in order to help them move forward. In addition to helping people learn, books would also provide them with a source of happiness.
As someone who has had a huge passion for reading, particularly graphic novels, she wants to be able to share that joy with others who may not be able to access it.
