After months of tireless effort, we have successfully collected and packaged a staggering 40,000 books across various subjects. This incredible collection is now nestled within a shipping container, eagerly awaiting its journey to Kenya. This book distribution will transform the lives of countless children in underserved communities, opening doors to knowledge and opportunity.

Almaden County Day School Shines a Light on Literacy in Kenya!

At the Maryam Library Foundation, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible act of generosity from Almaden County Day School. Their recent donation of an abundance of books has brought us one step closer to our goal of establishing 40 libraries in underserved communities across Kenya.

Our volunteers have reached out and received countless book donations from schools in Campbell Union High School District, San Jose Unified School District, Fremont Unified School District, Dublin Unified School District, Pleasanton Unified School District, San Ramon Valley Unified School District and many private schools and libraries. Thanks !

We recently reached out to Almaden County Day School and they were very enthusiastic about their project and went out of their way to help with book donations. A mere two months ago, the Kenya 40 Libraries project was an ambitious dream – a vision of 40 libraries rising across Kenya, empowering communities through the transformative power of books. Today, that dream stands not just as a vision, but as a tangible reality, inching closer with every passing day, thanks to the unwavering dedication of a remarkable group of volunteers.

Over the past eight weeks, our team of over 20 volunteers has poured their hearts and souls into the project, transforming a room brimming with potential into a sea of neatly packed boxes, each one a vessel carrying the promise of knowledge and opportunity. From the initial days of collecting and sorting books, to the meticulous process of packaging and boxing them for shipment, our volunteers have approached every task with unwavering enthusiasm and an infectious spirit of camaraderie.. Laughter mingles with the rhythmic swish of packing tape, a symphony of a thousand hands weaving hope into a steel container. This isn't just a shipping crate; it's a vessel carrying 40,000 dreams, 40 libraries, and a future bursting with possibility for the children of Kenya.

For the past four weeks, the Maryam Library Foundation has been on a mission: Project Kenya 40. Our goal? To collect, sort, and pack 40,000 books into a single container, transforming it into a literary ark bound for Kenyan shores. Today, we marked a significant milestone in this journey by hosting our first volunteer event in collaboration with Help Aid Africa, bringing together a group of dedicated individuals who shared our passion for making a difference. With their enthusiastic support, we made substantial progress in sorting and packing books for shipment to Kenya.

The atmosphere was electric as our volunteers, armed with boxes, packaging material, and an unwavering spirit, tackled the task with remarkable efficiency.
