Making a difference
Making a difference
Prisha Jain, a sophomore at Cupertino High School, often dedicates her time to causes that deeply resonate with her.
Her determination to make a positive change began the summer before 10th grade, when she interned at the Borgen Project. During this opportunity, she conducted in-depth research and uncovered the stark realities of poverty. As poverty rates continue to rise, more and more children are denied access to education and knowledge.
This realization fueled her desire to spread knowledge. Since then, Prisha has tirelessly worked to make a difference.
To create an impact, Prisha began by tutoring students at her high school, helping to propel them academically. She later extended her efforts beyond school, tutoring through an external organization to further her mission of spreading knowledge. She also partnered with Bridge4All, where she teaches free coding and environmental science classes to individuals across the Bay Area. In addition to teaching, Prisha creates lesson plans and monitors students' progress to support them academically.
When she discovered the Maryam Library Foundation, she was drawn to its mission of creating libraries in under-resourced communities to foster literacy. As someone who loves books, this was the perfect opportunity to share that passion with others.
Through these efforts, Prisha has supported dozens of students and remains devoted to causes that empower others, whether through teaching or her work with the Maryam Library Foundation — all in hopes of building a more educated and literate world.
